What is the Essence of Desire, of Pleasure? Is it possible to use them as a stepping stone to Consciousness? Or is all a source of suffering? Desire and pleasure are part of the journey of life. They motivate our actions, decisions, and relationships. We get some momentary fulfilments from them and some frustrations too! The frustrations lead to more desire for pleasurable moments. It goes on and on. We are prisoners of this loop, and this generates a lot of suffering.
Is there a way out of the loop which doesn’t condemn pleasure and desire?
Tantra has developed methods teaching us to be desireless in desire.

Entering the emptiness of the Heart is the essential Step!
The Raja Lovers Retreat explores this step through a Ritual involving the embrace, the caresses, and the kisses between two lovers. All the intimate gestures of the lovers are a means to fuse the body with intense life energy. While channelling this energy to the Heart, we provoke a meeting beyond ego, personality, restricted beliefs, and dreams. A true meeting happens by blending refined physical sensations with high awareness, discipline, and devotion during the Ritual.
The preparation for the Ritual during the retreat invites the lovers to move out of mechanical sex and mind projections and expectations. It is a profound enquiry into the body’s rhythms, breath, mind and the emptiness of the Heart. The retreat supports lovers in awakening their energies and bodies to refined sensitivity and vitality to activate their potential for love and consciousness.
What does Pema say about the Ritual?
“There are a few aspects of lovemaking from the Raja Ritual. The first one consists of realising that all the postures we take in sexual intercourse are a yoga of creation with specific patterns of energies. During the Ritual, you tap into these patterns to extract forces uplifting you into the Heart.
The second aspect concerns the biological aspect of the energy present during intercourse. If not used for creating a child, this aspect can be used for another type of creation. In the Ritual, you combine the energy patterns mentioned above with the biological element of creation to generate inner and outer forms of creation. It is a mysterious process that shifts intercourse into a new dimension.
Another aspect is about Desire, one of the powerful energies fuelling the Raja Ritual. There is a deep understanding of desire: whatever we desire, we want to be one with. It means desire is also a key to oneness. In the Ritual, we tap into desire to come to a point of unity where we become desireless at the peak of desire. It is a powerful transformation, bringing about a state of wonder, freedom and peace beyond words…”

Our restaurant with sea-view veranda serves delicious vegetarian food with fresh biological ingredients from our orchards and local farmers. All meals, drinks and afternoon snack/smoothie are included. Our kitchen team is happy to adjust to specific dietary needs.

Recharge in the large sea-view pool surrounded by bamboo sun beds, lounge chairs and umbrellas. Cleanse on a deep level in the Turkish bath, Finnish or infrared sauna. Treat yourself to an additional massage and enjoy the walking trails and panoramic meditation spots uphill.

We love our planet and every living beauty on it. That’s why Soul Valley tries to contribute in all kind of ways to preserve this beauty. We offer only vegetarian food, with fresh biological ingredients from our own property and local farmers. We minimize waste and recycle compost for the lands. Solar panels provide natural energy. In our aim to make Soul Valley completely CO2 neutral, we plant a tree with every booking.
Program:
The retreat is structured with whole day and night practices. It starts at 7 am and finishes around midnight. This intensive rhythm alternates with breaks for meals, swimming, and walking in nature.

Since 1999, Pema has been reviving the ancient tantric principles of the Kaula, based on practices that raise awareness of our actions and relations in our daily life.

Summer Experience

This flexible summer retreat is great for beginner and advanced levels. Participate as much as you like in the three daily activities, relax at the sea-view pool and spa, walk in the surrounding nature and explore the island and nearby beaches.
Your stay at Soul Valley is all about your own rhythm. The activities are facilitated by our team of experienced and down-to-earth teachers, and take place in one of our two yoga halls. You can book an additional massage.
Soul Valley has 26 boutique rooms divided over the main building, a renovated farm and horse stables, and 3 cottages. The venue is 50 hectares of hills and nature; you will definitely enjoy the atmosphere and starry nights. The rooms are light and spacious with stunning views, and decorated with heart and soul. Great supersized beds with incredible mattresses. The en-suite bathrooms have vegan body care products.
Around half of our guests during the summer come alone, the rest are couples and friends. You can be sure to feel at home between like-minded people and our team.
Our restaurant with sea-view verandas serves delicious vegetarian food with fresh biological ingredients from mostly local farmers. Our daily self baked bread and home made Italian pasta are gluten-free and our kitchen is happy to adjust to anything you might need to leave out.
The bar serves the real-deal Italian coffee, fresh teas and refreshing drinks including sodas, fresh juices and mocktails. All food & drinks are included. To provide an environment where you can completely recharge, we serve alcohol only during dinner.
During the summer guests can book their Summer Experience on flexible dates, but we're not a standard holiday hotel. People around share passions like retreats, yoga, delicious healthy food, and a conscious and comfortable life. On average we have 30-35 guests, adults only.
Within 4 kilometers of the venue you will find 4 beautiful sandy beaches. There is no public transport between our venue and the beaches or the airport. We offer once a day a shuttle service to/from one of the nearby beaches. This is for free.

A full week retreat, only for men, where you can escape from busy daily life and enjoy some well-deserved time dedicated to yourself! Recharge your batteries, calm down the mind and get inspired with new ways to live your life.
Why is this men-only retreat?
Because we see that worldwide including Soul Valley, the number of men participating in retreats is much lower than women.
There might be also other reasons for this inbalance but we are absolutely sure that it is not because MEN need it less than WOMEN.
In fact the opposite might be true.
MEN need of tools to help them growing, to really feel again, to express anger and to acknowledge our insecurities. By connecting with ourself, we become a better and happier man.
Therefore, we host this one-week retreat on the magical island of Sardinia at Soul Valley. We invite men who are looking for a down-to-earth opportunity to develop themselves emotionally, to recharge on a deep level and to get new insights about the important things in life.
During these days there will be plenty of time to enjoy the pool, beach, surrounding nature and wellness.
The program consists of bodywork, active and silent meditations and self-exploration activities and will support you in:
- Getting in touch with your emotional world (feel more, access old pain, express anger) and let stuck energy finally flow again. We will reconnect with the tremendous life force inside of us
- Expand the way you know yourself by discovering the deeper reasons of problems/frustrations you keep dealing with. For example a lack of intimacy, your relationship to food or alcohol, or struggle to change your sad or empty feeling
- Improve meditation skills and train your ability to silence the mind and diminuish stress & anxiety
This retreat is a balanced mixture of fun, relaxation and inner exploration.
Soul Valley is situated in a private valley with stunning views. You will enjoy true silence, clean air and starry nights in one of the most beautiful destinations in the world: Sardinia.
Everything is included: seven nights in your own boutique room with supersized bed and en-suite bathroom, incredible food, drinks (we serve no alcohol during the retreat) and access to the spa and sea-view pool.
Arrival is on Saturday between 15.00 and 22:00. Check-out is Saturday morning before 10.00.
We will organize combined vans between Cagliari international airport and the venue on arrival and departure day.
